/etc/net represents a new approach to Linux network configuration tasks. Inspired by the limitations of traditional configuration subsystems, /etc/net provides builtin support for:

Due to its modular design, support for new interface types can be added without overall design changes. /etc/net consists of core scripts (stable) and GUI configurator (abandoned). Both parts are licensed under GPL. More information is available via:

2008-07-13: /etc/net scripts version 0.9.7 is a regular maintenance release.
2008-04-10: /etc/net scripts 0.9.6 released with maintenence updates on board.
2007-09-27: /etc/net scripts 0.9.3 released. There were some release announcements lost in the way, but this shouldn't be a big issue.
